Southern Cross University [SCU] Online MBA

The Master of Business Administration from Southern Cross University develops business knowledge and practical skills to help graduates advance their careers in today’s competitive global markets.

The Southern Cross University SCU Online MBA is designed to give students the full MBA experience within a learning environment that seamlessly blends a healthy balance of work, lifestyle and family priorities.

The online MBA covers a comprehensive suite of business disciplines with seven specialisations to choose . Each specialisation helps students gain a deeper knowledge of a chosen field. Students can also undertake a practical research project in their workplace to reinforce course learning and to apply that learning in a real business environment.

After studying an SCU Online MBA, graduates walk away with a range of new skills including intellectual rigour, creativity, ethical practice, communication and social skills and cultural competence.

Although the MBA program is delivered online, students are welcome to visit any of the university’s four campuses at Lismore, Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast or central Sydney, and utilise the libraries, sporting facilities and other student resources that are available to campus-based students.

Program Structure

In order to complete the SCU Online MBA, students must complete 16 units, equating to 192 credit points. These points must be achieved by completing 12 core units and:

  • 1 specialisation (consisting of 4 units), or
  • 2 elective units, plus MNG93217 Industry Research Project: Part A and MNG93218 Industry Research Project: Part B

Students can opt out if they have accrued enough points. Students can choose to exit with a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration if eight units have been completed, or a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration if four units have been completed.

For each subject, it is recommended to budget about 20 hours study time per week.

Entry Requirements

Students interested in studying an SCU Online MBA must have a three-year Bachelor degree from any Australian university, or equivalent.

International students need to meet minimum English proficiency requirements and have a qualification equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree.

As an online MBA program, students will also need access to a computer with reliable internet access.

Fees*

Domestic students are charged $2,520 per unit per unit. There are 16 units in total, bringing the indicative fee to $40,320.

International students are charged $3,050 per unit. There are 16 units in total, bringing the indicative fee to $48,800.
