The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) has partnered with the Centre for Social Impact to launch an Australian first MBA in Social Impact.
The specialised MBA is part of a new suite of online MBA programs provided by AGSM collectively known as “MBAX” and includes MBA (Change) and MBA (Technology).
It aims to provide students will a new, strong platform for Australia’s emerging and established leaders in the field of social impact. It will develop key management skills and a deeper understanding of how participants can create a real social impact.
Centre for Social Impact Chief Executive Dr Andrew Young said,”The program is suitable for participants from all sectors, whether it’s the not for profit, government or corporate sector, and it builds upon the traditional MBA subjects with six social impact courses.”
“We believe that a good social system requires strong leadership from people who have the tools and skills to make change happen. Our MBA (Social Impact) is designed to fill that gap: we’re creating the next generation change makers.”
AGSM Director Professor Julia Cogin said, “With MBAX we’ve designed a program that allows participants to seize the greatest opportunities in front of them. We’re delighted to be working with CSI to build an outstanding cohort of passionate individuals who can enhance each other’s learning experience and make a real difference in the world.”
Building on six traditional MBA courses to focus on social impact, the specialised MBA (Social Impact) courses include, Entrepreneurs and Social Innovation, Corporate Responsibility and Accountability, Demonstrating Social Impact, Social Investment and Philanthropy, Leadership, Collaboration for Social Impact, and Social Impact Field Project.
The AGSM MBA (Social Impact) will be offered at UNSW from Semester 2, 2015.
