A diverse group of 54 new students from 16 countries including Jordan, The United States, Spain, China and Chile have begun their full-time MBA program at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM).
The group – selected from a strong set of global applications – is made up of around 30% female participants and came from a range of backgrounds including science, finance, engineering, manufacturing and telecommunications.
The AGSM MBA program is ranked (Financial Times – 2013) in the top 50 business schools in the world. Since its establishment, more than 13,000 executives have completed AGSM programs. The AGSM was also ranked 25 last month in the Poets&Quants’ Top 50 Non-U.S. MBA Programs of 2012.
This ranking combines the four most influential rankings and takes into account quantitative and qualitative data captured in these major lists, from surveys of corporate recruiters, MBA graduates, deans and faculty publication records to median GPA and GMAT scores of entering students as well as the latest salary and employment statistics of alumni.
Director of the AGSM Professor Chris Styles said he was impressed with the calibre of students who were attracted to study at the AGSM in 2013.
“Our new recruits are joining an elite group from around the world who have come together to create a rich and rewarding learning environment. They will meet like-minded people who will become the core of their professional network throughout their career.”
Academic Director of MBA programs, Professor Mark Stewart said the new cohort could expect a transformational experience that would stand them in good stead to tackle the big business issues facing the globe.
“AGSM’s teaching professionals understand the changing needs of business and offer relevant up-to-date insights into what leadership qualities are needed to thrive in uncertain economic times, particularly as the world’s focus shifts to Asia. Our team also offers a unique Asian perspective in our approach to learning and we have an enviable student exchange arrangement with 28 highly ranked partner business schools around the world.
