La Trobe University MBA Advanced Course Overview
This course offers an extended MBA program. The program comprises 16 subjects and provides you with cutting-edge general management and business education, with a focus on the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and its Personal and Professional Skills Development (PPSD) platform.
The program builds on a long tradition of flexible delivery with two intakes per year, different delivery modes to suit different student needs (standard and flexible options) and teaching times in the evening, weekends, and block modes. Students will have the opportunity to study overseas, undertake an internship, or select a research pathway.
The La Trobe MBA (Advanced) offers an extended MBA program. The program comprises 16 subjects and provides students with a cutting-edge general management and business education.
La Trobe’s MBA program adopts a practical, industry-focused approach for professionals seeking to accelerate their careers. Taught by highly qualified teaching staff with industry experience, you’ll graduate with the necessary leadership and management skills to excel in a rapidly changing business environment.
The program draws on a range of industry partnerships, placing a strong emphasis on enterprise learning. You’ll study with like-minded professionals who have at least three years’ management experience. The program is a highly flexible course that offers full-time and part-time options, block mode intensives and evening, weekend or online classes. The program is delivered at the following locations; City Campus, Bendigo, Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Shepparton and Mildura.
You’ll cover emerging issues such as digitisation, globalisation and responsible leadership. The La Trobe MBA allows you to develop skills in a range of business disciplines such as; data analytics, digital marketing, project management, sports management, entrepreneurship and finance. Classes apply theory to practice via interactive workshops and study tours, and cultivate critical thinking with real-world case studies.
La Trobe University MBA Advanced Course Structure
The La Trobe Advanced MBA comprises of:
- 16 subjects (eight core and eight elective), each worth 15 credit points (240 credit point total).
Additionally, there are two core professional experiences:
- E-Portfolio (24 hour time requirement) and
- Boardroom Simulation (24 hour time requirement).
You must complete the two core professional experiences to fulfil the degree requirements. However, they are not credit-bearing, nor fee-bearing.
Accreditation
The Master of Business Administration has EPAS (EFMD Programme Accreditation System) accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).
Entry Requirements
Academic level:
- Australian Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
Required grade average:
- A weighted average mean (WAM) of 60% or above at third-year level.
Work experience (Compulsory):
- Three years relevant managerial experience.
Alternate entry:
- Applicants with more than eight years relevant managerial experience but without an undergraduate degree may be considered for professional entry.
